Scoot to Bangkok!

Bangkok Day 1

We spend the last week in Bangkok for our annual shopping/eating trip in the land of the smiles. This time, we flew by the new budget airline Scoot, which was offering cheap fares for its flights.

Air Tix: S$208.18
Hotel rate: S$80 per night
Exchange rate: S$1 to 25Bht.

The insides. Dear observed that the seats were wider than other budget airlines. So thumbs up for that. The  ride was ok and good enough for a budget flight.

After touching down (it was 7pm plus by the time we get out from the airport), we went to check in at our hotel: Tenface Hotel. This is the hotel lobby; you can see Thai elements form the theme of this boutique hotel.

Because it is secluded in a soi, they provided amenities such as calling card and one day BTS card for guests. The calling card is for guests to call the 24hr tuk tuk pick up service from the BTS station.

Best thing I like abt the room is how spacious it is. This is a 'corridor area' in the room after coming in through the door. And that is the living room in the right side.

The living room. Pictures are dark because the lights in the room are pretty dim. No yellow lights at all. Boo. But Dear said it's romantic like this. :p

I realised I forgot to take photos of the bedroom because it was even darker in that room. But it's also big and spacious, with a LCD TV on the wall! So Dear and I won't need to fight on what shows to watch, haha.

The bathroom in the bedoom.

After putting down our stuff, it's time for dinner and we took the hotel tuk tuk to one of the restaurants near the hotel: Coffee Bean by Dao .

Dear's Mamasam curry with roti. The roti was really crispy and addictive.

My thai fried rice with chicken which was savoury and flavourful , as it should be. I wonder what's the seasoning they use? Must go and look for the recipe so that we can replicate it.

I also bought a pack of banana muffins from them because they are also known for their desserts. The muffins were moist and filled with banana bits. Good for a morning breakfast bite.

We went to the 7-11 store nearby to buy snacks and drinks before going back to the hotel for the night. Went back and watched the Olympics!
